They waived Holzer to sign Luke... I just don't know. We will see.
Franson would have been better..... at least he can run the pp and has a good shot... |

Not a chance you can sign anybody decent for $800k, Hell, that's $100k less than Holzer was making.
Schenn might play 30 games this year. He's a #7, that's all. Fowler-Manson, Lindholm-Montour, and 2 of Pettersen- Larsson-Megna-Mahura-or Wellinski. Then Schenn. Now that I think about it, Schenn will probably be spending a large portion of the year in beautiful San Diego! |

If the roster stays as it is, Larsson and Mahura will be in SD in October, getting their 25 minutes a night. Ducks will not have one of those guys splitting time with Luke Schenn - they need big minutes to develop. Only way Larsson stays in Anaheim is if he beats out Brandon Montour for the #4 spot.
Assuming with injuries the Ducks will play 9-10 D over the course of a season, Lindholm, Fowler, Manson, Montour, Pettersson, Schenn, Megna, Wellinski, Larsson give them 9 guys who have been successful in the AHL and seen playing time in the NHL. I don't include Mahura on that list because he hasn't played a professional hockey game yet. If Holzer is in SD, that gives them 10. With a little seasoning, Mahura could be a wild card late in the year - his offensive skills are sick.
And when Larsson is ready to be a top-4 guy, Montour becomes trade bait. |

If he gets any time at center be prepared to stab your eyes out. It was one of the worst personnel mistakes I can remember since Dan Bylsma decided to make Jerome Iginla a left wing. - madmike71
All I know is the Ducks centers better be Getz / Kes / Rico and either Sam Steel or Troy Terry next yr. |

The season isn't starting tomorrow. Let's see what else (if anything) happens over the summer.
Kesler may not be able to start the season. Neither Steel or Terry will be playing C for the Ducks next season (one may get a look, but that's it. imo). |

Troy already has a yr burned on ELC he damn sure better be on the big club in some capacity ... but you’re right still time to shake things out ... |

You said playing C, thus my response accordingly. I think Terry will definitely be on the team, and possibly Steel (more of a 9 game trial, then maybe an injury call up), but neither will play C. Both will be wingers imo. |

It dosen't look great. But since most of our top 6 is spoken for. Getting Patrick Eves back pretty much fills up the top 6. Even if Kesler misses a lot of game. Big problem was speed. And that part looks better.
The next bigesst need was goal scoring. So far that's still a problem. But it can fix its self. Maybe silfverberg, or kase have big years. Or even possibly Ritchie. Things are either gonna be fixed I internally or maybe Bob makes another trade. Gonna have to wait to see how all the pieces fit together. |

Do you know who Randy Carlyle is? We will be seeing him running a PP playing 17 minutes a game because he is a veteran hockey player. Remember, usually what you think will happen. Carlyle does the opposite.

Kinda like Bieksa getting all those playoff minutes against the Sharks instead of Marcus Petterssen, right? |

Schen is the replacement for holtzer. He plays more physical than holtzer. That's about it. |
